Do you have a dial-gauge pressure canner?

Please call the Dallas County Extension Office at (214) 904-3050 to schedule a 15-minute time slot between 10 am and 2 pm on March 14th, 2019 to have your pressure canner dial gauge tested. Please bring your entire canner.

It’s important to test the dial-gauge of your pressure canner every year because if the gauge reads high or low by more than two pounds at 5, 10 or 15 pounds pressure, you’ll need to replace it. If it is less than two pounds off in accuracy, you can make adjustments needed to be sure you have the required pressure in your canner.
